Public Concert: Ancient Greek Music


One or two public concerts of Ancient Greek Music (party played on instruments constructed according to ancient Greek models and descriptions) by the ATRIUM MUSICAE of Madrid under the direction of Gregorio Paniagua, pioneer in the contemporary performance of ancient Greek music (CD from Harmonia Mundi, HMA 1951015, 1979, 2000). A recording of this unique event may be made by the Institute.

The group consists of six musicians. A chorus of six Greek female voices will additionally be required. An exhibition of replicas of ancient Greek instruments reproduced by Luthier Gregorio Paniagua may be simultaneously held. Also a lecture by Gregorio Paniagua with his mature conclusions on the matter of EARLY GREEK CLASSICAL MUSIC (with full audiovisual coverage).
